Harm reduction offers a compassionate and practical approach to promoting individual and community health and well-being. This session introduces harm reduction as both a practice approach and a social movement, inviting practitioners and organizations to embrace a more holistic and human rights-based approach to some of life’s most complex issues.

Through engaging discussions and real-life examples, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of harm reduction principles and their applications in personal and professional contexts.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe harm reduction as a practice approach as well as a social movement
  • Recognize at least three ways that they are already practicing harm reduction in their personal and/or work lives
  • Identify at least two strategies for applying the principles of harm reduction in their practice
