As one of the premier graduate social work programs in the nation, SSA continues to attract and prepare the most able social work and social welfare professionals in the field. And as one of the oldest schools of social work and social welfare in the nation, it has pioneered social policy research and some of the field's most groundbreaking innovations in social work practice. This tradition of innovation and excellence continues to this day. Our graduates are skilled in the most recent theories and practice of social work and social service; their classroom instruction has been complemented with practical work-place experiences to sharpen their skills during their graduate education at SSA.

The School of Social Service Administration offers graduate work leading to both the A.M. and the Ph.D. degrees.

"SSA is so special because it gives you access to much more than a classroom. You can become part of groundbreaking research, participate in important advocacy work in communities organizing for social justice, or collaborate with students across campus on interdisciplinary projects."
